It was originally, as far as I can gather, just a kombi. It had a flip up buddy seat on the bulkhead behind the passenger seat.

It was 6v but the guy I bought it from had it converted to 12v although nothing worked, no indicators, no hazards, no horn, no brake lights etc! So I made up a new loom and also found a 12v module for the sirens and lights. I’ve mounted it all in an original cover for the 6v Module that mounts under the parcel tray. I’ll post up some photos.

At the moment I’ve got the wiring in place for two blue lights, although she only had one from the factory, and I’ve got two NOS pairs of two tones mounted on the bumper.

I’ve also reinstated the mandatory additional rear turn signals, and I’ve added the search light socket to the front panel.

I’ll try and update this thread with all I’ve done since I got her

So, as promised, more photos!

I've searched everywhere to try and find more history on this, and this is what I know. (or think I know)

Plymouth Paul originally had this as an import and ran it stock with the blue lights, eberspacher, roofrack etc until it was sold on here https://www.ssvc.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=79677 early 2012

I then find it on the steering box scrapers from around Autumn 2012 titled "It was a Fire Bus, Not anymore"

In short, all of the original period items and Fire Bus parts were removed and sold off.

Hopefully you get the picture. And unfortunately for whatever reason there was no progress for a number of years

Then around 2018 a guy called Steve who runs a VW Wedding Hire Service bought it and it went off to Irvs Restos to be put back together. It went up for sale on the Samba early 2019 and I picked her up last August.

If any of the above is incorrect, please advise and I will correct ASAP.
