1600cc engine for 1971 Brazilian Split

have just purchased a 1971 Brazilian spilt and its more of a project than I thought it was going to be

looking to get an engine for a Brazilian Split - currently has an H-code in it but only running on 2 cylinders - reckon it would need rebuilt

it also needs a fair amount of welding on the chassis to make it safe

happy to listen to any ideas about the best way to go about doing this

What's the end float like,can you check compression on cylinders,might be lucky and just need new barrels and Pistons,or cylinder heads ,valves replaced
