Ave a read of the actual government documents, they are not taking age related plates off vehicles.

If it original, no mot if it's been fiddled with, mot. What's so difficult.

Fine if it's not been "fiddled with"
I've gone irs and my OG engine was stolen so I'm over the 8points.

They haven't told us what's in store but they wouldn't be doing this if there's nothing in it for the government or else why bother.

If this goes ahead one way or another some people are going to have to cough up some money, those people being my and a shed load of others.

Road tax maybe if you can't keep your plate.

Introduction of something like a "modification tax".

It's going to cost, i guarantee it.

Why change it if not ?

Signed. Stuff like this always causes me concern, surely the government has more important things to worry about...

Ok so I noticed some debate about this kinda stuff a few weeks back when the govt said about the mot exemption but what is the need for this petition then? Where is the info as all is see is a worrying statement from some geezer not any link to facts or debate? Maybe I'm missing summat?
Oh and who would be responsible for policing originality anyway as they closed all the regional offices

This is all ******** ,for a start most mot testers don't know the difference between a narrowed beam and a stock one never mins a freeway flyer and a reduction box gearbox steering box lift what's that ,they only want all them lovely plates so as to sell them to some knobhead who thinks a private plate will fool his neighbors into thinking his 5 year old merc is in fact brand new ,and hence make load of cash to spend on the pot hole riddled roads in Britain I don't think.
