Wedding Transport Appeal

Post by Waffle » Fri May 23, 2014 3:40 pm

Hi everybody, I would like/need some help.

Me and the wife-to-be are getting married on the 13th of August in St Ives Cornwall, and we would love to have a split screen VW as wedding transport.

Ive checked out the commercial options and unfortunately we just can't afford or justify the price, for only doing a couple miles at most round the corner.

So this is where you guys come in. Is there anyone local to St Ives that would be willing to transport the bridal party from our accommodation to the venue, in exchange id cover your expenses and a small reward and of course extreme Gratitude :) . One van would be great, or a small convoy would be amazing. :D

I eagerly await some replies.
Thank-You in advance.
Dan.

All wedding hire cars / vehicles will cost you. People on here that offer services for weddings pay expensive insurance premiums for the pleasure!

So. Perhaps when you factor in this, along with the cost of maintaining and restoring a vehicle to the standard required for anyone to want to use it to mark their big day, maybe that will help you justify the cost of hiring one of the most sought after wedding vehicles money can buy today.

Good luck, and have a lovely day.

Hey Dan
It's a real shame you didn't get married at Stanford hall earlier in the month, there was a convoy of 211 split screens.
Best thing about that is it would of been free!!!!!

Cheers I'll check them out.
I do understand the costs and effort involved with restoring and running a van to that standard, and if I was going to be travelling any distance I wouldn't mind. I'm just not going to pay £500 plus to go 1 mile down the road, hence why I thought of asking for anyone with a usable bus to do the honours, and get a few quid in their pocket.

That's the going price for any wedding car really. But they're based on doing 50 miles through out the day and paying the driver and detailing the car ect ect.

I would be VERY surprised if you were quoted anywhere near £500 for a split.

I know a few split owners that do weddings and I would say the average is around £275-£325.

One of my friends hired AT&T Chauffeurs for a bridal car in Dublin at an affordable price.

You are right. But we must still consider that if we rent a car, it is not to cushion the cost of the car.
