Westfalia funeral trailer valuation

So I’ve just brought a westy funeral trailer from a guy in Holland, (Not collected it yet) it needs restoration which is all planned in for next winter, but I’m wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to get a valuation done for insurance purposes once it’s been restored ? Pics added for attention

Re: Autocraft towbar fitting

If your metal is "minimal" then you've some serious rust issues.... as that's the main chassis rail. The reason for the extra holes is for strength. I've refitted an AC towbar for someone that didn't drill the holes and the towbar + chassis rails were bent out of shape. Ohhhhh, phew, and glad I ask...

Re: Wtf moment - heating pipe routing / parts

Excellent and many thanks for finding and sharing this, it does make it a lot clearer. I suspect as you say, I’m not seeing / feeling the right right place so it does not need to compress to go through. I think I’ll just leave the bodge job in place until the need arises to take the engine out, then...

Re: Wtf moment - heating pipe routing / parts

Right, took a look on evam and came across these parts. The left part which is the same as the one side of the complete Y part is what I’m missing, but, at some point this goes “Over the top” where it narrows, and this part shown is too large a diameter to go over, so there must be something else th...

Re: Wtf moment - heating pipe routing / parts

Thanks I’ll take a look, and you are spot on, it’s a 65 that was sea blue lol. I’m pretty sure both pipes connected to the Y piece as the end of the heat exchanger was just open as was the one of the Y connections. My confusion is due to the gap the pipe has to pass over, and the impossibility to cr...

Autocraft towbar fitting

Hi again, so I’ve fitted the autocraft towbar, (Well nearly) but I’m confused as to why there needs holes drilling on the side of the chassis ? Ok so I know the fitting instructions say to do it, but the metal thickness is minimal so is it really worth drilling on the sides ? Has anyone else not bot...

Wtf moment - heating pipe routing / parts

Hi all techno gurus, so today was my first, but probably not last, Wtf moment. I’d recently brought the autocraft towbar from magic8ball, and also some other spare parts he had for sale (Namely some heating pipes) I am missing one on mine from the LH heat exchanger to the Y section and assumed the o...

Re: Minor resto on 65 microbus (Poppy)

So more progress today, fitted rear bumper and my new second hand autocraft towbar (Thanks magic8ball) I also tried to reconstitute the heating system by adding the pipe I was missing.... here is where I encountered some issues. I’d brought some heating pipes from geoff (Magic8ball) and was sure 1 i...

Re: Minor resto on 65 microbus (Poppy)

Been a busy few months, all of the underside was cleaned of old road crud and donkeys years of underseal, it was then coated with a por15 liquid and left to dry. We now moved onto fitting the new USA bumpers (As original spec) these are new, and also fitting original and restored safari windows and ...
