Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

Probably a silly question I know, but is there an easy way to tell if it’s a single or dual port ? Yes. It's a dual port. The most obvious way to tell is that the intake manifold is in three pieces. If you look between the distributor and the left hand air hose, you can see the flexible connector t...

Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

Excellent write Who.Me... my tip, as Who.Me said is buy a oil pump puller tool... it will make your life significantly easier if your not splitting the case, you’ll have the pump out within 30 secs with one... (you won’t without!) Do you know what engine you have, 1500, 1600, single port/twin, as i...

Re: Autocraft towbar fitting

If your metal is "minimal" then you've some serious rust issues.... as that's the main chassis rail. The reason for the extra holes is for strength. I've refitted an AC towbar for someone that didn't drill the holes and the towbar + chassis rails were bent out of shape. Ohhhhh, phew, and glad I ask...

Re: Minor resto on 65 microbus (Poppy)

Bit more spannering done by myself (I’ve got a great body work guy, he lets me do work whenever I want with use of his garage ‘ tools / ramp) I’ve also had a great deal on the body work he has done as our agreement was, fit it in around other work, but I get a healthy discount. So today I popped in ...

Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

some sites selling it state 70 on, others as well as the cb site state up to 70.. They are physically different pumps. The difference between "up to 70" and "70-on" relates to the type of camshaft you have. I'm fitting a Maxi pump 2 that comes with a filter head. The only difference between the Max...

Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used one

Once I determine what I need, I’m likely ordering from the USA and getting it shipped over as a gift. If anyone else needs one or something else small, I may be able to help. (my wife’s American and her family still live there and can help out with shipping stuff) The maxi pump 3 is $62 versus circa...

Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

Much more reading done, and I’m now even more confused. Following watching a number of YouTube videos, and more samba posts, I came across the CB Performance Range of oil pumps, they seem to fit the bill, as most of the pumps that “Fit up to 70” mean no case drilling. The problem now, they have so m...

Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

So, I was doing some reading while,I await a parts delivery and I’ve been thinking about next jobs I want to do. I’ve read a lot about full flow oil systems and adding oil coolers. From what I’ve read, and as I’m running a 1600 engine, I do not need the cooler, but the remote filter does seem like a...

Parts or stuff from Holland

Just a friendly offer, I’ll be travelling to Holland soon (Near Venlo) to collect the funeral trailer. If anyone needs anything picking up that can fit in either a Ford Focus or the trailer, please get in touch. I’m aiming to go as soon as the eu travel restrictions ease.
