Re: RHD 1954 Samba

If you polish it you need to use a diminishing polish, T cut is too agressive and just keeps cutting.

Re: To Deluxe trim or not....

Don't do it, personally I think it looks naff on anything with less than 13 Windows. When I started restoring the 61 I thought yer deluxe trim, safaris chrome badge. Then over the 4 years it took to restore my ideas gradually changed after looking at lots of buses at shows. Too me unless it was orig...

Re: VWJim's dual circuit servos, AMAZING!

Brake bite. Not stopping as quickly. Mile reckons that if he presses down really hard he'd go through the screen. I've never felt in danger of doing that! I guess we could have a different pad? Steve Could it be less vacume? or as you say different pads, also your bus could weigh more etc, many var...

Re: Reverse lights / at gearbox

Yes , thanks Graham. I'll get some nice pics up. I'm sure it's plenty dirty under there and worthy of a before and after shot. :-) its a twin terminal switch on the nose cone, however i expect you will either have a blanking cap in its location or an earlier nose cone without the hole for the switc...

Re: Digital or GPS speedo?

I'm after a speedo solution, my vans original goes up to 80mph im presuming it works but is probably not very accurate anyway. At the moment doesn't even have a cable fitted. I have been looking for another type to fit, ideally in the original speedo pod in my bus. I know smiths do a 120mph digital...

Re: dodgy fuel pump?

As has been said above, check your oil level, if its higher and smells of petrol you have a split diaphragm in the pump. Getr one of these https://www.vwheritage.com/113127025d-fuel-pump-t1-t2-1-2-1-6-for-dynamo-rod-best-quality then change your oil. Only other thing i can think of is if it doesnt w...

Re: Info on stroker engines

Just be aware if you go above a 78mm crank you have to use b pistons. Crank wise buy a DPR machine crank, either go direct or ask stateside tuning.
