Re: Vehicle Documents for an Imported Bus

I just spoke a couple of weeks ago to the shipper that I've used 5 or 6 times over the years and he said that nothing is going to be moving out of Long Beach until 2021. Don't know about other ports though.

Auto Electrician details

Hi all. Long shot but I used an auto electrician years ago and trying to find whether he's still in business or not and whether anyone knows if he's still going. He's called Col (Colin) and was from around the North West (Widnes area if I remember correctly). The number I had for him seems to be no ...

Re: Remote oil filter - csp adaptor - anyone used this ?

some sites selling it state 70 on, others as well as the cb site state up to 70.. They are physically different pumps. The difference between "up to 70" and "70-on" relates to the type of camshaft you have. I'm fitting a Maxi pump 2 that comes with a filter head. The only difference between the Max...

Re: Correct bumper type

59 - 65 buses use slash front and rear bumpers. In mid 65, VW began using pointed rear bumpers and in 66 and 67, both bumpers had pointed ends. Deluxes would be different with a pointed rear bumper with slash trim.

So, in a long winded fashion, yours would be both diamond.

When I stop at the traffic lights
Stock switches put the light on from 2.5psi - 5psi and it could well be that the switch is faulty. Try a new switch and see if any change. What weight oil are you using?

Is this when you're actually driving or when you're stopped idling at traffic lights etc?

Hi 65 . Thanks for your reply. Is the paint a good match to og paint would you say? As I will be blending in rockers and a little on the front nose. Kind regards Neil
Hi Neil

It is a very good match to the cab area but what the guy says above is an obvious, fair point.

Re: Brakes

Sounds like brake fade. Basically, something that can be brought on by prolonged brake use when components get real hot, down a long hill for example and can be much worse in drums than discs. As the guy above says, try to use the gears more to slow the vehicle or press on the brake more firmly so y...

External filter mount thread size

The centre fitting that came with my sandwich plate is 3/4-16 UNF however, this does not fit the centre fitting on my external mount and also is not correct for my filter (Mann 940/1). Making it more infuriating is that the filter allegedly IS 3/4-16.... :? Anyone know what size thread the centre fi...

In/out ports on Mocal thermostat sandwich plate

Having not used one of these before, I thought it best to ask this. As neither of the ports on the sandwich plate are marked, I'm assuming it does not matter the orientation of the lines into it from the external cooler, is that correct? It's a thermostatic plate if that makes any odds.
