Oil bath air cleaner parts

Hi, could anybody help me please? I'm trying to locate the rubber insert and the metal tube that fits from the elbow bracket (see pic) to carb inlet.
Cheers Ian

Oil bath air cleaner for karmann ghia

I recently bought this for my bus but I have since found out that it fits a karmann ghia. It needs a good clean up and it could do with a bush for the inlet flap (sic photo). £70 Inc postage UK only. Any questions welcome.

Oil bath air filter complete for my 65 camper

Hi all, I'm wanting a complete assembly to return my 1600 tp back to stock. I've tried 32/36 twin weber and had problems so it's back to solex carb & og filter if I can get one.

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

Think I'm going to go genuine solex recon carb in conjunction with vac distributor. Are the pancake paper element air filters any good or should I return to original oil bath filter?

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

I've decided on going back to either a good solex copy from schofields or gen recon solex from machine 7, vac advance distributor. Are the chrome pancake paper element air filters any good or should I go back to original oil bath air filter?

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

Cheers Phil, I will definitely look into your suggestion as there is nothing worse than losing faith in a vehicle starting. The ironic thing is that I used to repair & recalibrate diesel inj pumps for a living, which were then a fit & forget item. I naively assumed it would be the same for carbs. Th...

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

Cheers for reply Jim. I've had my van 13yrs and I only changed setup from a 1500 single port with solex that always started easily to 1600 twinport as the 1500 engine started using oil. I decided on a full restoration & took advice from restorer that a twin choke weber would be ideal. I've only used...

Fuel draining back in system overnight?

Hi all, recently installed recon 1600 twin port engine from V. Eng Co. It runs lovely and I'm very happy with it. When left for a few days or even overnight, it takes a lot of cranking to start which I think is fuel draining back in the line. I'm wondering whether to fit a non return valve or an in-...

Heat exchanger cable fitment

I'm just about to fit a new heater cable. I've cleaned the tubes and stripped the heater control knob assembly. The manual says the longer cable goes in the right hand guide tube, but doesn't state if that's looking from the rear of van to front or vice versa. Any help appreciated, ta.

Re: Heater sticking open

Cheers Ted, I've tried disconnecting the cables and it cures the problem so I'm going to fit the new cable and adjust carefully, hopefully it will be tickety boo.
