Re: Flipped tie rods

Dropped spindles will have the taper direction reversed, so all the work should of been done already.

Re: Suggestions? - Fan shroud to heat exchanger connectors?

I did this 'game' at the weekend. Before. Generic repro' heat exchangers Old bug silencer OG twin port tinware - not sure what year / vehicle. All the above lined up perfectly. After. Generic repro' heat exchangers Repro Bay silencer OG twin port tinware - not sure what year / vehicle. As you said, ...

Have you tried listing it on theSamba? Might find more owners with early bus / stock engines on there.

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

I also see you have a stock fuel pump that is not enough for the progressive carb either as it needs 3 - 3.5 psi. If you need more speed you could use twin carb set up. Also have a look at the 123 distributor. Phil Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk Depending on the pump, some easily produce 3-3.5...

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

No need fit a primer system. The carb holds fuel in the float chamber.

Standard carb = a choke mechanism + manifold pre-heat + carb pre-heat + crankcase venting.

Re: Fuel draining back in system overnight?

IMHO that's a horrible carb choice. Had one on an engine years ago and it was rubbish to tune, the linkage was awful, crankcase venting was reduced and no carb pre-heat ability. There's no way the fuel would flow back to the tank, and the float chamber will be fuel of fuel, so plenty to start the en...

Re: Help. Just changed Gear Rod Coupler, noisy transmission?

Thanks for the reply Andy. I've just done all the fluid. So I know that's all tip top. I don't see how the WW coupler has any flex at all! The OG coupler has a rubber section all the way around and the WW version has a metal section connecting the two half's. I'm sure the rubber is somewhere inside...

Re: Help. Just changed Gear Rod Coupler, noisy transmission?

Interesting to know. Not come across that before.

Maybe the coupler cage is bridging out the rubber section or they're using a compound that doesn't isolate the vibrations well enough.

OG cargo floor off cuts.

I've got some small repairs to do on an OG cargo floor, so anyone got any offcuts that I could graft in.

Thanks
